What is "Vitralism"?
|
|
Vitralism (Vitralismo) is Mele's particular style of painting (named by her husband Javier as "vitralism"). This style portrays a particular subject (usually a single subject) using line extension and broken color techniques. Color (acrylic paint) is mostly applied with round sponges in several layers of color producing a "stained-glass" effect that helps to bring out the subject while integrating it into the background.
